LML DeLuxe

Post by Dejan »

Hej !
I'm not sure if I'm posting on right place as I don't speak swedish.
My name is Dejan and soon I'll be moving from Italy to Stockholm and I don't want to
move my Vespa with me. I'd like to take one in Sweden.

In Italy and England I've seen recently a breakthrough of Indian Vespa LML DeLuxe. It is possible to buy one somewhere in Sweden.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Dejan

Quite possible, vehicles ara taxed very high in Denmark. Did you check the Swedish price?
I think that the price for the last Vespa PX 125 was over 31'000 SEK, and this is a lot more..

So, the reply arrived sooner than I expected. :)

Until now they have not found a dealer in the Stockholm area, but they are working on it.
As they don't have a dealer the price on the street in Sweden has not been
fixed but it is expected to be around 25.000 SEK. (which is what I expected)

It is possible to buy one in Copenhagen, Denmark where they stock all colours meanwhile.

Fritte, thanks a lot. I was looking for a quite a bit, a distributor in Scandinavian countries and didn't find him. The web page is bad positioned (Google).

And you want a new scooter? Used ones and oldies out of the question? If not you would/could have a nice chance to find a real speciality from Sweden: Touring (a swedish name), that is an old GL version of the VBA/VBB. 10" wheels and the beautiful look of the 150! Lovely Vespa!

A local internet sell&buy is the Blocket. Here is a Blocket search with the name/word Vespa anywhere in the text:
http://www.blocket.se/li?q=vespa&ca=11_s&c=101&w=3

You'll find a lot of scooters called Vespa, since a lot of people don't know scooter and Vespa are not aliases...

If you're not in a big hurry to buy (it's winter!), you'll probably find someone to help you with the language. And bureaucracy.

Hi vespaco, thanks for advice.

Actually I don't want a new Vespa, I'm also interested in used ones. I've already seen blocket site and two very nice Touring Vespas (really beautiful ones), but I only have B category driving licence and I suppose that for 150cc Vespa it isn't enough. I would prefer much more one of those two rather than two of LML.

I'm looking for a Vespa that I can drive with my driving licence and big enough for two persons (something like my PX 125E that I have here in Italy).

After all, LML is not bad product at all, but it is not Vespa (as a matter of facts, it might be more "Vespa" then all of the new products that Vespa is offering right now  ).

Sorry, but to drive legal in Sweden, you need a class A license for anything larger than a 50 cc limited to either 30 km/h (old classification for a moped) or 45 km/h (newer classification for moped).

None of the vintage bikes are classified to the 45 km/h class.

Hi wanten,

you are right. As my italian driving licence is recognised I didn't think twice about it as in Italy with B category driving licence one can drive motorcycles up to 125cc.

After your post, I've looked better into specifications and it is written that this is valid only for Italy.

So, thanks a lot. Probably, I'm going to take A category before moving to Sweden.

With an A you may then choose any nice Vespa (or whatever) on the market! Isn't that great! And no more problems choosing any model afterwards in any country! You will probably not regret that decision.

Hello Dejan and welcome to the Swedish Scooter scene.

I don't know anything about how you take a A category licence in Italy, but it could hardly be any more difficult than in Sweden. Here the unofficial policy is to make it overly complicated to make for less accidents on the streets. Especially over-complicated if you're only to use it for a small-engine-vehicle like any Scooter.

So I recommend you to do before you get here.

best regards

Thanks primavera133.

I'll probably follow your recommendation. I think that it should be more or less the same exam. Just for fun, you can see here what is required as "practical" part:
