You can bolt a 20/20 on if you replace the box - a PX box without oil pump holes should be fine. However, the inlet of a VGLA engine is of similar area as the 20/17 so I wonder if you will get any noticable performance boost unless you increase the inlet and also fit a cylinder with a 3rd transfer port.
Thanks Henrik, I wasn't really looking for performance. The old carb is in bad shape and it seems cheaper to buy a new carb, however I don't think Dellorto make the 20/17 any longer.
Try putting an ad on the SSK marketplace. There are usually tons of 20/17 carbs out there left by those who have fitted new and more powerful engines. Unfortunately, I don't have any spare ones at the moment
