Re: High revving

Hi there

I have fixed the problem, it was simply where the throttle cable was connected to the throttle arm on the carb, it was too tight. Couldnt see it at first but on closer inspection thats what the prob was.

Re: Retapping a hole

Yep thats the ones, the ones either side of it. I wasnt sure if you could but the separate parts as I assume those holes go into the main bulk of the valve.

Thought one would have to buy a whole new fuel tap.

Retapping a hole

Hi there I have gone and threaded one of the holes that holds the open close valve on my fuel tap. Does anyone know where I can get the hole retapped? I am based in stockholm. Or is it easier to do it oneself? If so, where can I get a retapping kit form, what is one of those called in Swedish ;) Tha...

Screws for DR 75 kit

Hi there I have just installed a DR 75cc kit on my vespa 50 and I went to screw the cylinder head on but the screws dont seem to fit. I believe my existing screws are M8, i tried M6 but they are too small, so I am thinking they are somewhere inbetween. I know that M7 exist but totally rare so has an...

Hi there I am hoping someone can help me. Not sure if this has already been asked for in the forum as I am not to great at reading swedish just yet. But I am totally rewiring my vespa v50n form 1967. Body shape

Hi there,
I have totally stripped my scoot ready for a respray, but I have noticed that the legshield is a little pushed in on one side.

Can anyone suggest a good way of getting the correct shape in which to knock/bend it back to?

Its a Vespa V50.

Cheers people

Beedspeed or SIP

Hi there,

quick one htis

I have been ordering parts from SIP but noticed that BEEDSPEED are a little cheaper.

Has anyone had any experience with both? I was looking at a mudguard and BEEDSPEED are selling the same one for about 200SEK cheaper.

Cheers

Bodywork

Hi there,

In the near future I will need to be getting some body work doing. A new floor panel and a few cracks here and there.

Can anyone recommend someone that can take this kind of job on?

Cheers

Ah ha got ya,

nape all the seals are good, it isnt actually that much oil, and to be honest I think its just residue, it is very minimal indeed.

Its not like it is coating the plug, more just around the 1st couple of threads.

Just saw your reply SR500,

I have prertty much gone over the whole engine, new gaskets, checked the piston, that was all good,

it is indeed a CDI ignition, nothing fancy on this scoot ;)

I am pretty sure its something to do with the fuel not getting through.

Yep, the spark plug is changed for a new one, and I had a look at it and couldnt really tell if it was wet or not, it wasnt overly wet and to be honest it spelt more like burnt oil rather than fuel, obviously where the spark was igniting the small amount of oil in there. How could I check the carb, ...

FUel problemo

Hi there,

i think I have a fuel prob but not sure how to fix it. Firstly, my scoot wont start by kickstarting, dont know why?

We managed to kind of jump start it but when I turned the throttle it was like there was no power, it just stayed idling,

Any idea?

Cheers

HI there, thanks for the sanding tip. I bought the kit as one from SIP. The carb goes on about half way and then it gets a bit stiff so I am pretty sure it is the correct one. I will give it gentle sand like you said. Shouldnt need much at all. Thanks for the help. Just want to get the scoot started...
